Top Rated Prenatal Vitamins
It is highly advised to begin taking prenatal vitamins prior to conception although it is not critical, as long as you start taking them as soon as you discover you’re pregnant.
I have done some research on prenatals, looking at a variety of factors and testimonies. Below are the top three I would recommend trying out. You should absolutely consult your doctor before trying any vitamins or supplements and this is not a medical opinion.
I’m sure you have seen tons of influencers touting ritual prenatal vitamins. They definitely have some great benefits, including:
- Delayed-Release Capsule Design
- Gluten and Major Allergen Free
- Made Traceable™
- Non-GMO Project Verified
- No Artificial Colorants
They have also incorporated 12 traceable ingredients. What I love about their website is that they very clearly state where their ingredients are sourced from. All the way down to the town/city.
On top of that, they describe the form of the ingredient and how it is produced. For anyone who like to have a clear idea of what they are putting into their body, I highly recommend the ritual prenatal vitamins. Check out their website here.
One con that I have found is that the serving is two capsules. I typically opt for a single capsule serving for any vitamin I take.
These easy to find prenatal multivitamins are one of the top rated prenatals on the market by physicians.
One thing I noticed about the marketing for this prenatal vitamin is their emphasis on Choline as opposed to the often highly touted Folic Acid. Although this vitamin clearly includes the recommended dose of Folic Acid, they emphasize the importance of choline.
They state that the recommended daily choline intake is met by less than 10% of pregnant women.
I wish they would talk more about how their ingredients are sourced and have a more “natural” type of marketing approach with their product but the ease of sourcing is a huge benefit. Just a “quick” (they’re never that quick) trip to Target or Walmart.
This prenatal is made by women, for women. Instead of cramming everything into one pill, they have formulated packets for every stage of conception and pregnancy. With a packet for conception support to trimester specific formulations, they have it all. And once you are postpartum, they have a packet for that too.
They also have a vitamin for your husband to boost fertility, among other added benefits.
The trimester specific packets always include a multi-vitamin, but depending on the developmental stage of your baby, they add in other supplements. For the first trimester they include a ginger supplement to combat nausea as well as an folate capsule which is highly encouraged, specifically during neuronal development, so they add this capsule for additional folate outside of the multivitamin.
For the second trimester they incorporate calcium magnesium blend capsules as well as Omega DHA + EPA..
For each stage they formulate the package of vitamins to best fit you and your baby’s needs.
One thing I don’t love is the amount of vitamins you have to take. I typically prefer a one stop shop when it comes to this but there are clear benefits to certain nutrients being in different forms best for their absorption so all-in-all probably worth the 2-3 extra pills.

Everything You Need for a Spa Day at Home
As a busy woman, whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or working a full-time job, getting out of the house to treat yourself to a spa day can be, honestly, impossible. However, even if you feel like you don’t have the time to pamper yourself with a massage or facial, you can still treat yourself to a relaxing spa day at home.
If you have all of the necessities to get the most out of your at-home spa day, you will have no trouble relaxing.
prepare for your spa session
- remove any old nail polish
- clip and file nails as needed
begin the process
- shave (anything, everything, whatever floats your boat!)
- shampoo – use scalp scrubber
- exfoliate your body
- deep conditioning or hair mask treatment
are you ready to glow?
- put your hair up with terry cloth scrunchies and headband
- remove all makeup using a non-abrasive makeup remover and reusable makeup remover cloth (if necessary)
- Apply teeth whitener strips (if you want)
- Apply face mask
~move to next step, you will finish your facial later ~
Draw yourself a bath
What you will need:
- Bath Salts
- Bubble Bath – add some essential oils if you want a more potent smell
- Terry towel hair wrap
- Book, magazine, or music (or all three!)
- Glass of champagne, wine (treat yourself), or cucumber water
~ rinse out deep conditioning treatment ~
get that glow
- using a soft washcloth, remove face mask
- apply serums, facial moisturizer, eye creams, etc. (pamper!)
- apply body creams (don’t forget your hands and feet!)
get those silky smooth shiny locks
- apply leave-in conditioner
- apply hair oil to ends
- gently brush out locks
- put hair back up into towel
add the dazzle
- pick out your favorite nail polish (I personally love the quality of OPI polish)
- nail polish
- paint toes first, then fingernails
- add a top coat
- lay back and relax while your nails dry
If you feel so inclined, I suggest you finish your spa day at home with a good old fashioned at-home blow out. I have my own version of this and you should do what works best for your hair type to get the results you want. For fine hair like mine, this is what I do to increase volume.
- apply blow out cream
- blow dry hair mostly upside down
- use volumizing blow dry brush
- hot rollers – these help me get good volume
Now, go out and show off that beautiful glow. Whether it’s walking the kids around the block or grabbing a much deserved date night with your husband. Enjoy!

Must-Have Kids Swimsuits
Are you as excited as I am that summer is practically here? Although we live in Colorado and there is very limited access to water, we have plenty of fun backyard water toys, so swimsuits are still a must.
While shopping around for the kids, I found some of the cutest swimsuits for boys and girls! Along with some fun outdoor games that I think they will enjoy!
Outdoor Toys and Games
I don’t know about you, but I prefer a cleaner aesthetic, even when it comes to my kids’ wardrobes. Although I do love the quality of Carter’s, they have a lot of clothing with loud graphics and phrases which is not my favorite.
So, I went on the hunt for affordable shops carrying, what I would consider, a more mature color palette of clothing options for babies and toddlers.
If you are looking for items, and brands in general, that have more simple staples for children of all ages at great prices, look no further. I have pulled some of my favorites from my go-to shops.

SPF Products to Try
Okay, I’ve gotta say. When I was younger (middle school through high school, heck, even in college) I was not aware of how IMPORTANT sunscreen is. I don’t think I really ever wore sunscreen unless I went on vacation…and I went to school in Los Angeles. So, once I became much more interested in skincare in my mid-twenties, I have been on the hunt for everyday products to protect my skin. This is honestly the first line of defense against aging.
If you aren’t already, you really should follow @dermarkologist on instagram. He gives such great little tidbits and insights on dermatology care…and he’s a dermatologist! Also, he shows you products from affordable stores like Target, CVS, etc that you can use to combat aging, increase tightness, complexion, and battle any skin problems you have. I recently found him and I think he is great. There are tons of other dermatologists on social platforms that give insight but I just really like him 🙂
These products are great for everyday use, whether you are going to work in the office, staying at home with the kids, or going to the beach. I will note, these are all products for the face and neck and do not include body sunscreen. For those, I just typically use a spray SPF because it is just so much more convenient. Neutrogena is a great brand that I typically lean towards but Sun Bum, and Hawaiian Tropic are other go-to’s.
I will wear this SPF under my face makeup. It adds extra protection and I have drier skin so I am not afraid of moisture!
This is a nice tinted moisturizer that adds some nice coverage without being too heavy. I can still see my freckles but it gives an even tone to my complexion and is very buildable.
When we are going to be doing yard work, hanging at the lake, going to the beach, hiking…you name it, we are putting this on our faces! If you don’t follow @dermarkologist on instagram, you should. He did a reel debunking the myth that 100+ SPF is no more protective than 85+ (or something like that) and 100+ SPF is better at protecting from burns long term if you are prone to forgetting reapplication (that’s me!). So we go big so we don’t have to go home.
This is a lot lighter than the Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer but it has more SPF and I will put this on if I don’t want to wear anything heavy. If I’m just home with the kids with nothing going on that day or I will use it as my base if I am going to wear a medium coverage foundation. This was recommended to my friend from her dermatologist and I had heard good things about it so I had to try!
Again, a @dermarkologist recommendation. I’m a sucker for SPF lip balm and I got the mano (yum!). Great to have in the purse, especially living in a dry climate!
Honestly….the smoothest, and easiest sunscreen to apply on kids. My brother-in-law introduced me to it and it has been perfect. My kids don’t fight me with the application, it’s clear so no white residue (hence why I also use it) and 70+ SPF! Can not recommend enough!
I will wear this underneath my Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer…did I say I have drier skin? I love ALL the lotions and moisturizers! This one has good coverage, an okay SPF amount when applied with others, and leaves my skin feeling so smooth and hydrated.
The main thing is, this is the only skin we have…let’s take care of it! I will honestly say, I love having a nice tan and don’t want to give up that summer glow. You can still get color without getting burnt, and preventing major damage is a good step. Also, spray tans are really a great alternative if you want more color and you can get those any time of year. Let’s just all be smart and stay away from tanning beds. I know they are relaxing and have pretty quick results, but the risk of skin cancer is just not worth it.
Love you all, let’s stay young!!
